User Planning Software
Description/Discussion
- This software is probably non-essential, but is motivated by comments
of Allington-Smith in reference to GMOS + ADC. It is used for
predicting stmospheric and ADC distortions, ADC corrections and
PSFs.
- It involves packaging parts of the "private" optical model software
and creating user interfaces for running it.
- Some of the functionality may already be included in slitmask design
software.
- Parts of this software may be essential for planning observations if
pointing/tracking models are not updated to consider differential
refraction effects.
- The scope and need for this software should become clear by PDR time.
Budget/Schedule
- This software at this point is non-essential and therefore is not
part of the core ADC project.
- Modifying the "private" optical model for observer use would
probably take 4-8 weeks ($11K-22K) depending on the level of features
and documentation.
- Could be added at any time, pre- or post-commissioning, as warranted.
