A long term program needs multiple semesters to obtain the data required for the science,
but is not a large allocation of time like a LMAP program, less than 45 nights per semester.
These proposals only need to submit a new proposal every 2 years. After the initial
approval, the PI need only submit a proposal with a one page status update. After two
years, the proposal will be re-reviewed and the results from previous semester’s data are
an important criteria for whether or not the program is renewed.
Any proposal accepted for long term status in 2019A or 2019B can be re-submitted for future
semesters with a simple, one page status update. Otherwise the original proposal can be
submitted as is.
