Conclusions

• If the NS is a slow rotator, 1-d simulations probably capture most of the physics

• When rotation is important, 3-d is likely needed.

  • These are large, demanding calculations, requiring many zones to resolve the envelope and burning structure.

• Models including the effects of rotation are underway, but hampered by the large range of length scales needed.

• Large scale multi-d simulations will likely need hydro methods that are more tuned towards the M < 1 flows that exist in XRBs.
