Introduction
Observations of Type I X-ray bursts yield increasingly more detailed information about the conditions under which the burning takes place.
Numerical models are sensitive to these precise conditions, as they affect:
- The choice of algorithm.
- The level of detail that can be obtained.
- The size of the domain needed to get most of the qualitative features.
All of these details affect the cost of the simulation.
- Resolving the burning front and size of the envelope requires a lot of zones.
