Suffered a disk crash and lost my response to this. Don't have the
heart to recreate it in detail. You all know the sorts of things I
would say, anyway. Might make an amusing parlor game to write your
own replies in my - ahem - "style" :-)

In summary: may come as news to the ITU, IERS and USNO.

Plan to take a week or two away from leap seconds, so if there are
going to be any reports attempting to attribute technological
misbehavior to the recent leap second (and further, to characterize
marginal kerfuffles as dire portents of doom), this might be a good
time to release them :-)
