We (humanity that is) managed to stop synchronizing civil months with
lunations. Why is this so different, or would you rather revert to
the Babylonian calendar with its 7 extra months in every 19 years?
I understand that there is
software out there which believes that civil time never differs from UT1
by more than 0.9 sec. Does that really trump the vast amount of
software and wetware that believes that 60 sec = 1 min?
