The FITS coordinates can be redefined, but the current coordinates indicate the manner in which the ucam code writes the pixels into the FITS image array.

As of 2011-02-22 the existing ucam/xvideo coordinate system has its origin not at the FITS array origin, but instead at coordinate 4096,0 in this diagram, which is the lower right corner when someone is looking into the dewar at the CCD.
Contrary to that representation, when using the window values which select a subregion of the CCD to be read and stored in the FITS file the coordinate system has the same origin as the FITS image array.
