Guidelines
Please note the following changes to this PDF regarding the guidelines of the course:- You may use ANY notebook that has graph paper (intrinsic or that you attach) as well as normal (i.e. college or wide ruled) sheets of paper. The scientific notebooks from the bookstore are optional.
- Keep in mind that there should be ONE graph per page and that it should fit the entire page as this gives better resolution of data points and errorbars.
- Also note that this is a rough guideline for working with the lab reports. Obviously some experiments will be more intensive on the Analysis portion and as such the weight will be shifted accordingly.
- Some things not mentioned on this page, such as using proper units or neat labelling of data are also expected. Failure to do said items could also result in loss of points.
These lab reports do not have to be very long; 1-2 pages of actual report (not counting calculations) including data tables should be sufficient for explaining what you did during the experiment.
A sample lab report can be found here.
Notes
The lab writeups for the following experiments were written very poorly. As such, I took the liberty of rewriting them in hopes of clarifying a few major points.Lab 9: | Resonance |
Lab 10: | Geometric Optics |
